Terms of Service for Liberty Budget

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing libertybudget.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Liberty Budget is a personal budgeting tool that lets you:

• Build a Recovery Scan and receive a personalized budgeting-plan recommendation based on information you provide
• Enter transactions manually or import them from supported CSV files
• When production connections are enabled, use an eligible paid or lifetime account to optionally connect supported bank and credit-card accounts through Plaid
• Track income, deductions, expenses, and fund activity
• Create budgets and savings goals
• Generate reports, forecasts, and visualizations

3. Account Registration

To use Liberty Budget, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide accurate registration information
• Keep your password secure
• Notify us of suspected unauthorized access

You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Trial and Subscription

Trial:

• New accounts receive a 30-day trial of the manual-entry and CSV budgeting workflow
• No payment card is required to start the trial
• The trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription
• Automatic bank and credit-card connections are not included in the trial
• Continued access after the trial requires you to choose a paid plan

Liberty Gold subscription:

• $8.99/mo monthly or $74.99/yr annually, plus applicable taxes
• Unlimited CSV imports and transaction history
• Advanced reports and other listed paid features; optional Plaid connections are included only when production connections are enabled
• Institution, account, refresh, transaction, balance, and liability-field coverage can vary; automatic data may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, or unavailable
• Limited-duration promotional pricing applies only for the period shown at checkout; LAUNCH60 discounts the first annual payment, then renews at the standard annual price

If you choose paid automation, credentials and connection authorization are handled through Plaid Link and your financial institution's supported flow. You select which accounts to connect and authorize the data made available for the selected Plaid products. Plaid's terms and privacy policy also apply. When paid automation access ends, Liberty stops requesting new sync data and requests removal of the Plaid Item. If Plaid is temporarily unavailable, removal may remain queued for retry. Transactions already imported into Liberty remain subject to Liberty's retention and deletion policy.

If a subscription is canceled, expires, or otherwise lapses and you later resubscribe, then-current pricing may apply.

5. Payment and Cancellation

• Stripe processes subscriptions and card details; Liberty Budget does not store your card number
• Choosing a paid plan authorizes the displayed charge and recurring monthly or annual renewals
• Renewals occur on the billing date shown by Stripe unless you cancel
• You can cancel online from your Profile without contacting support; cancellation normally takes effect at period end
• Access continues through the paid period unless a refund or payment reversal ends it sooner
• Refund requests are available within seven days of the initial subscription purchase
• Except where law requires otherwise, partial billing periods are not refundable

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share access in a way that compromises account security
• Upload malicious files or content you are not authorized to use
• Attempt to bypass security controls, disrupt the service, or access another account
• Use the service for unlawful purposes

7. Financial and Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Liberty Budget is a budgeting tool, not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

• Your pre-transaction scan is a review plan, not a savings estimate; a Recovery Number appears only from reviewed and confirmed candidates and is not a guaranteed refund or financial outcome
• Plan recommendations and tips are general educational guidance; you decide whether a method or action is appropriate for you
• You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of data you enter, upload, or connect
• CSV formats, Plaid data, account availability, and automatic categorization can produce errors that require review
• Reports, forecasts, debt scenarios, and opportunity estimates depend on your data and assumptions
• You remain responsible for financial decisions made using the service
• Liberty Budget cannot cancel a bill, reverse a fee, lower an interest rate, or recover money unless a specific feature expressly says otherwise

8. Intellectual Property and Your Data

• Liberty Budget code, branding, and design are owned by Liberty, LLC
• Your uploaded, entered, and connected financial data remains yours
• You authorize us to store and process that data only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service

9. Availability and Limitation of Liability

Liberty Budget is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law.

We are not liable for:

• Errors in entered, imported, or connected data, calculations, recommendations, reports, or forecasts
• Financial decisions or losses
• Service interruptions, third-party outages, or events beyond our reasonable control
• Data loss despite reasonable safeguards

To the extent permitted by law, our maximum liability is the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, creates security risk, or engages in fraud.

You may cancel a subscription or delete your account using the available account controls.

11. Changes to Terms or Pricing

We may update these terms or general pricing with notice as required by law. A non-promotional signup price described as locked remains in effect only while that subscription remains continuously active. Limited-duration promotions renew at the price disclosed at checkout. Material changes do not alter charges already paid for a current billing period.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Michigan except where applicable law permits otherwise.
