Simon Salaev built Liberty Budget for people who know they need a plan but need help seeing why it is worth starting and which approach fits their life.
A budget should begin with an answer that matters to you
Most budgeting tools begin with setup: create categories, connect accounts, clean transactions, and hope the charts eventually change your behavior. I wanted Liberty Budget to begin one step earlier: show what your current plan may be leaving behind and turn that opportunity into a practical first move.
Liberty first builds a scan around your situation without asking you to guess what you could save. Your Recovery Number appears only after real transactions are reviewed and you confirm a candidate. Modeled debt interest stays separate, and the plan explains which budgeting and debt-payoff approach fits next.
You can prove the workflow to yourself with manual entry and CSV imports during a 30-day no-card trial. If automatic updates would help you stay consistent, a paid subscription can optionally connect supported bank and credit-card accounts through Plaid. A bank connection is never the price of admission.
Who is responsible for the product?
I build and maintain Liberty Budget and answer for its product and privacy decisions. The public project history on GitHub shows the work as it changes, and support questions go to support@libertybudget.app.
You can leave with your data
You can export your transactions as CSV or JSON, cancel online from your Profile without contacting support, disconnect an optional account connection, and permanently delete your account. Liberty Budget should earn its place by helping you act, not by trapping your data.
